Research & Development

Nastech is a leader in drug delivery technologies that focus on the regulation and manipulation of tight junction biology. Tight junctions are cell-to-cell connections that regulate the transport and passage of therapeutic drugs. Nastech also has expertise in pharmaceutical formulation science, a systematic approach to drug development designed to maximize therapeutic efficacy and safety. Nastech is at the leading edge of the breakthrough technology of RNA interference (RNAi), using it both as a research tool to study tight junctions and also examining its potential as a therapeutic product.

Nastech's core technical competency in molecular-biology based drug delivery involves the research, development and manufacture of nasally administered prescription pharmaceuticals. Nastech's nasal drug delivery technology has demonstrated value in designing optimized, customizable dosage forms and in delivering peptides and complex protein drugs that can currently only be delivered by injection or other less desirable routes.

Manufacturing

Nastech has invested in the people and technology crucial to manufacturing pharmaceuticals within the industry's tightly regulated environment. Our advanced manufacturing facilities provide the capacity and qualifications necessary to consistently produce high quality pharmaceutical products. We view manufacturing as an important component to our financial bottom line and believe that it is a critical component of Nastech's value to our partners.

Partnerships

Nastech is engaging in collaborations that will enable both parties to rapidly develop and commercialize therapeutics by leveraging their respective technologies and capabilities. We also place a high value on relationships that will provide us the opportunity to expand our internal research and development programs through access to new technologies and early stage compounds.
